[Week 3] ANIMATION PROJECT - PROD STUFF

ok so just something i found that mite appeal.
before u click play i reccommend u down the volume coz the music mite not be your cup of tea. haha.
have a squizzle at the grain and shiiiittt on the film.
i think if the grain we pick for the end product looks shithouse,
perhaps we could even incorperate some home make textures u know.
like on the staggers film clip.
i got heaps of texture files that could work well if they were tampered with on fotoshop and stuff. even with the random flashes of whites scribbley text they used throughout the segment looks spiffy.
the shakiness of the frames also gives it that old skool look about it.
mite work well with our title cards u know?
i thought the whole 5-4-3-2-1 shot sequence was really cool and might work well with our film.
even the 3d construction and staging of the opening title works well.
just for ideas for our finale render! oohh yaar!

p.s the below shots are from drawn together.
the house is 3d constructed im pretty sure.
i desaturated one shot, coz it reminded me of a few of our bg shots.
except well, modernized but u dudes get the point.
some food for thought anyhoos.

jar jar.
well thats all for me today.

week 1

whell week 1's tute was quite informative indeed.
mark talked us through the course outline and what was to be expected of us (assignment wise).
After some memory refreshing of what we did last semester, we then dived into our exercise which was due next weeks tute. We got a hand out of the Brothers Grimm fairy tale - "The Three Army Surgeons" where we had to read the story and illustrate the interior of an inn. we pretty much need shitloads of research to back up our imagery / ideas too.
Many things had to be taken into account. For instance :
--> time / era the story was set in
--> the country / location the story took place in
--> socio-economic status of the characters / village
--> mood / atmosphere
--> Architecture
--> type of food / furnature / decorations were appropriate for the story / era
i didnt realise how much thought had to go into these thumbnail sketchings until we discussed all that *points to above list* in class. So after that, i trundled home, jumped on the net, and started googling things like "old english inn" and "ancient pubs" after looking up more info on the story.
to my surprise i found f*ck all! after colaborating with some lovely uni chums, we found some good pictures in a book, of all things!
