2009: MY OWN MINI FILM : WEEK 6

so.
the storyline has changed heaps. infact. completely.
its more a case of, i dont know how to finish the other story, and tie it together so it is quite lovely and has this good ending and compells the audience.
ALSO. i have let time slip away and should be busy compositing my shit as it is week 6.
ANYHOOS
LIKE, FUCK.

here is the script

INT. DUSTY RUN DOWN ATTICK. MORNING
The morning sun shines in through a large rotting window featured in the centre of the scene. The wallpaper is old and falling apart in the corners, the wooden floorboards are chipped and dirty, cobwebs and mould are growing in on the ceiling, and there are packaged cardboard boxes thrown throughout the room.

BOY
[Small 11-year-old boy sits slumped down below massive window. sun glimmers on the shiny hunting rifle perched next to him. He sits squinting at a ‘smut’ magazine. Peers through the pages curiously, fumbling around for a cigarette. Clumsily lights it.
Starts chuffing. Turns another page]

EXT – STREET SCENE – MORNING
The main strip of a once busy small country town is now run down and deserted. The quaint concrete buildings have smashed windowsills and the occasional graffiti here and there. An old truck is collapsed and broken. Rubbish is scattered on the streets. The dusty road has the occasional grass tuft growing. A few pieces of old newspaper fly through the air. An eerie breeze breaks the silence. A small rabbit appears from one of the alleyways.

SMALL RABBIT
[sniffs the air. Looks about the street. Hops out onto the road. Heads towards a large grass tuft. Starts munching]

INT. DUSTY RUN DOWN ATTICK. MORNING

BOY
[Ears prick up at the sound of the rabbit’s crunches. he panics. Drops magazine. Spits out cigarette. Cinders fall on his hands. He fretfully pats his hands and the rest of the cinders off him. Quietly fumbles and puts cigarette out, waving smoke away. Grabs rifle and stands to his feet, pressing himself up against the wall. Takes a deep breath. Gulps. Looks out side window. Sees small rabbit.

“huh?”

Lowers rifle. Boy is relieved yet confused at the same time.
*pauses*
Runs across room looking outside at the buildings. Starts to get frantic again. Bites lip. Aims rifle at small rabbit.

A massive rabbit smashes through the floorboards, flinging the boy and his gun in separate directions. The massive rabbit goes to maul the boy with his teeth. Boy reaches out for his rifle. He is inches away. Rabbit’s face gets closer. Boy finally grabs rifle

EXT – STREET SCENE – MORNING

A shot is fired.
Small rabbit looks up into the air. Runs away.

INT. DUSTY RUN DOWN ATTICK. MORNING
Boy looks shocked. Big rabbit looks surprised, then starts laughing. Camera pans out, to show rabbit is holding a gun.
Boy rolls his eyes and looks down at his green paint stained t-shirt.

THE END

here is two rough images of the main boy character.

im going to send up some more images of the boy, the small rabbit, and the big rabbit later on in the afternoon as well as the rough storyboard yo. fuck yeah.
going to be a busy bee tonight indeed!

meanwhile not sure how to approach the colouring. im thinking because it is a small film i have to make the charater animation my strongest aspect. so im thinking as tedious as it may be, hand drawing the shit mightnt be too bad.
wouldnt mind trying cut out like kyle's film

http://maguki-kyle.blogspot.com/

but i dont know if i can get away with it in regards to how i want this film to go.
i might try it for the first idea, when its more fleshed out.
rater on in rife.

im thinking of doing the colour treatment like similar to these. but i just am not sure yet. oh. ill let you readers in the vast abyss of blogland know in a day or someshit.

ok. so thats all for now homes.
over and out!
